Liudu town

Liudu Town, subordinate to yun'an District, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, is the political, economic and cultural center of Yun'an district. It borders on Xijiang River, duyang town in the East, Gaocun town in the south, Gaofeng street in Yuncheng district, Nanjiangkou town in Yunnan county in the west, and Deqing County across the River in the north. In 1740, Shilong fort was set up in Liudu town. In January 1996, it was assigned to yun'an County as the seat of the county. In September 2014, Yun'an district was established as the seat of the people's Government of Yun'an district. Liudu town has perfect infrastructure. The town center has built an area of nearly 12 square kilometers.

The total area of the town is 214.55 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 50579 by the end of 2017. It governs 13 villages and 1 community. In 2018, the industrial output value of the town was 5.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%. There are 1992 individual businesses and 539 enterprises in the town, including 31 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 4 commercial enterprises above designated size.

Historical evolution

Under the jurisdiction of Liudu Town, shilongbao was set up in 1740.

In 1897, Wang Jiang Bao was set up.

In the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), the fort was changed to Township, and then Liudu Township, Shilong Township and Wangjiang Township were set up.

In the 36th year of the Republic of China, it was merged into Zhenbei township.

In April 1958, Nanxiang, Daqing and Liudu townships were merged into Liudu township. In September, Gaocun township was merged into Liudu township. In October, people's commune of baking oven was established.

In March 1961, Liudu people's commune was established.

In April 1983, Liudu district was established.

In April 1985, Liudu town was established.

In October 1992, the provincial government approved the establishment of Liudu economic development pilot zone, covering an area of 4 square kilometers, which is one of the nine pilot zones in Guangdong Province.

In September 1994, a prefecture level Yunfu City was established, and Liudu town was renamed Liudu street of Yuncheng district.

On January 9, 1996, Yun'an county was established with the approval of the State Council, and Liudu street was renamed Liudu town.

On September 9, 2014, the State Council approved the abolition of Yun'an county and the establishment of yun'an District of Yunfu City. The people's Government of Yun'an district is located at No. 11, Mingzhu Road, Liudu town.

As of June 2020, Liudu town governs 13 villages and 1 Community: Dahe village, shangliu village, Xiasi village, Liudu village, huangwan village, Fuqiang village, Nancun village, Gutang village, foshui village, Guangming Village, Qingfeng Village, Daqing Village, Dongcheng village and Liudu community, with 252 village groups.
