Dongcheng
Dongcheng Town, subordinate to Mulei Kazak Autonomous County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located 21 kilometers southwest of Mulei Kazak Autonomous County, adjacent to ZHAOBISHAN Township in the East, Shanshan County in Turpan Prefecture in the south, Xiji town in the west, qiaoren Kazak nationality township and sangezhuang Township in Qitai County in the north. The area is 500.66 square kilometers. In 2018, 13254 people registered residence.
In 1950, it belonged to Xining district. In 1954, it was Dongcheng District. In 1957, it was a township directly under Dongcheng. In 1958, it merged with jixinliang Township and established the upstream commune. In 1972, it was renamed Dongcheng commune. In 1984, the township system was restored. In November 1999, the township was removed to build a town. In October 2019, Dongcheng Town governs nine administrative villages.
In 2018, Dongcheng Town has 14 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
