Nanxindian Township

Nanxindian Township, located in the southeast of Qiuxian County, Handan City, Hebei Province, along the east of national highway 106, is 12 kilometers away from the county, covering an area of 53 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 26 administrative villages with a population of 27178, mainly planting cotton and wheat.

Historical evolution

Nanxindian is a village which was moved in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty and belongs to Fenghua District in Ming and Qing Dynasty. In the Republic of China, it was the third district. During the Anti Japanese War, it belonged to three districts. In 1945, it belonged to the second district. Nanxindian township was built in 1953. In August 1958, it belonged to liangerzhuang commune of Quzhou County. In March 1962, it was called nanxindian commune in Qiu county, and in 1984, it was changed into nanxindian township. At the beginning of 1996, dongmuzhai township was merged. Township government resident moved to this site. It's an old revolutionary base.

The terrain is slightly higher in the middle, and gradually lower in the East and West. There is laoshahe in the West and sunlouqu in the East. Most of the soil is intertidal cinnamon soil. There are some sand hills and depressions on both sides of Shahe River.

The economy is dominated by agriculture, with a cultivated area of 50039 mu, including 36730 mu of irrigated land. It mainly produces cotton, wheat, coarse cereals, forest fruits, etc., and the per capita net income of rural residents is 2511 yuan.

With convenient transportation, national highway 106 runs through the territory, with nanxindian dahouzhong highway in the West and panguanzhai dongmuzhai highway in the East.
