The historical town began to be built near the stone bridge at the north end during the northern and Southern Dynasties, and gradually developed to the stone bridge at the south end along the main street between the ancient post road at the foot of Jieshan and huanshui. Because Shuangqiao town is located between Xiaohe Town in Xiaochang County and sanlicheng town in Dawu County, Shu River passes through Shuangqiao Town, and the water and land transportation is very convenient, so it forms a market and has the custom of double day in the lunar calendar. In the Museum of Chinese history and the Museum of Chinese military, there is also a huge photo recording the capture of Yue Weijun, commander of the Kuomintang by the Red Army in Hubei, Henan and Anhui.
