Beizhai Town, subordinate to Weiyuan County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Weiyuan County, bordering Longxi County in the East and Southeast, Luyuan town in the south, Qingyuan town in the southwest, Xinzhai town in the west, Qinqi Township in the northwest, and Daan Township in the north and Northeast, with an administrative area of 147.9 square kilometers.

Before September 1949, it was Weibei town.

It belongs to the Fifth District in January 1950.

In September 1958, Beizhai commune was established. In December of the same year, Weiyuan County was abolished and transferred to Longxi County.

Before and after the restoration of Weiyuan County in December 1962, it belonged to the working committee of Beizhai district.

In July 1964, Beizhai commune was still established.

In July 1983, it was changed to Beizhai township.
