Turhong Township, belonging to Fuyun County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Fuyun County, adjacent to shaertuohai township of Qinghe County and kizileshilik township of Fuyun County in the East, Qitai County and jimusar County of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in the south, tiemaike Township and Kurt township of Fuyun County in the west, and Mongolia in the north. In 2018, the area of the city was 17871.4 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 14818.
In 1953, it belongs to the second district; in 1978, it was renamed turhong ranch; in September 1984, it was changed to township; in October 2019, turhong Township governs 17 administrative villages.
