Eggplant dianzhuang town has been famous for planting eggplant since 1980s. As a result, not only the diseases caused by continuous cropping such as Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt, bacterial wilt and root knot nematode were avoided, but also the yield was very high, with the best benefit of 12000 yuan per mu and the average of 89000 yuan per mu.

The success of the first demonstration greatly stimulated the confidence of the local government and vegetable farmers. On September 17, 2004, dianzhuang town government held a mobilization meeting for the second rejuvenation of spring eggplant. 309 farmers signed up on the spot and asked for new technology to replant eggplant. The planting area of spring eggplant in the town has recovered to more than 4000 mu.
