Baluntai Town, belonging to Hejing County, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Hejing County, bordering Alagou Township in the East, kelguti Township in the southeast, Hejing town in the south, halmodun town in the southwest, Bayinbuluke town in the west, Gongnaisi town in the northwest, Hutubi County, Manas County and Changji City in the north, and Hejing town in the northeast Urumqi county is adjacent to Hejing County, 62 kilometers away, with a total area of 5002.67 square kilometers.

History of construction

In April 1950, a district office was set up in Baluntai town.

In September 1951, it was changed into the fourth district.

In 1958, May 1st and August 1st communes were established; in November of the same year, the administrative committee of Baluntai mining area (county level) was established, which was subordinate to the Bazhou people's Committee, and the Aiweier mining area (district level) was also established.

In July 1962, the administrative committee of bacangtai was abolished and the system of Baluntai district was restored, which was subordinate to the people's Committee of Hejing county.

In November 1964, one or two communes under its jurisdiction were renamed Baluntai and Alagou animal husbandry communes.
