brief introduction
Wuju farm was founded in 1960 in a difficult period of life. At that time, the national policy of developing agriculture was to develop agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline and fishery simultaneously and comprehensively. Therefore, the newly-built farm got a popular name of "Wuju" farm. Wuju farm is located in the southern mountainous area of Chongxin County, upstream of Daxi River, Xinyao and Chicheng of Chongxin County in the north, Longmen of Lingtai County in the East, and Longxian County of Shaanxi Province in the southwest. It is 10 kilometers long from east to west and 8 kilometers long from north to south. It was originally a hilly and gully area of "three cares". when the farm was established, the environment was harsh, the conditions were very difficult, the traffic was inconvenient, and the telecommunication was not available. The builders lived in caves, lived in broken temples, ate dry food, and ate wild vegetables. In particular, the soil and water were poor, and endemic diseases such as Keshan disease, Kaschin Beck disease, and neck strengthening were serious. It is conceivable that it is difficult for workers to set up farms in such an environment. After the farms were established, they were all called state farms, which were first managed by the local government and then led by the Bureau of agricultural reclamation of Gansu Province.
history
In 1965, in order to control soil erosion on the Loess Plateau, the state established more than 10 afforestation forest farms in Huan County, Zhenyuan County and Qingyang County of Qingyang region. A group of cadres were transferred from local areas, a group of soldiers transferred from Beidahuang were transferred, and a group of social youth and newly graduated young students were recruited from Lanzhou, Tianshui, Pingliang and Xifeng to form the state-owned Puhe afforestation general farm. as soon as the general farm was established, Gansu soil and water conservation construction division was established together with the original farms in Qingyang and Pingliang and the two forest farms in Tianshui. Later, the northwest production and Construction Corps was established, and the soil and Water Conservation Division was changed into the second forestry construction division of the Northwest production and Construction Corps, which was simply called the second forestry division. At this time, the state transferred a group of cadres from the Xinjiang production and Construction Corps to all the agricultural and forestry farms of the whole division. They opened up wasteland in the valleys and forest areas, managed and protected the forest, cultivated seedlings, planted trees, combined labor with military, and opened up wasteland to guard the border. Then, the second division of forestry was changed to "the second division of forestry construction of production and Construction Corps of Lanzhou Military Region", with the serial number of 930 troops. In order to strengthen military training, the state transferred a number of active servicemen from the army to strengthen leadership and prepare for war and famine. There are more than 20000 people in the second forest division, and the division and regiment organs, units directly under it, and more than 100 agricultural and forestry farms under it are all troops. Wuju farm is the battalion of the third forest Regiment (933 troops). later, the state investment for afforestation was compressed, and the newly-built afforestation forest farm in Qingyang, the old regiment, was canceled and handed over to the local management. During this period, in 1968, during the upsurge of going to the mountains and the countryside, more than 3000 educated youths from Lanzhou and Baiyin came to each farm of the second forest division, and Wuju, wanbaochuan and zhanglaosi received hundreds of educated youths each, which increased the number of farm personnel and filled them with enthusiasm With vigor and vitality, the literary and art propaganda teams of several regiments once enjoyed high reputation and were active in Qingping and the surrounding counties and towns. In 1975, the construction of BINGTUAN was abolished, and the farm was transferred to the local management. The forestry general farm and the agricultural general farm were established in Pingliang area. Wuju was subordinate to the agricultural general farm in Pingliang area. Later, it was changed into Pingliang Agricultural Reclamation Bureau and Pingliang agricultural reclamation branch company, which were under the management of the Provincial Agricultural Reclamation Bureau and the Provincial Agricultural Reclamation General Company. Now it is also known as Pingliang agricultural reclamation Co., Ltd., which is under the management of Gansu Agricultural Reclamation group company.
