Manan Miao and Yi nationality township belongs to Yongshan County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. It is an alpine minority Township, located in the southeast of Yongshan. The total land area of the township is 209.17 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Daguan Gaoqiao Taihua village in the East, Shuangxuan village in Shuizhu Township in the south, Fenghuang village in Huanghua town in the west, Yunqiao village, Shunhe village and Xingtian village in Tuanjie Township in Xiluodu town in the north.

In 1876, an outsider named yuan Yingliang moved here to live. He opened a horse shop and used wooden stakes to block horses, so he got the name "Malan", which became "Manan". The township is located in the middle ridge of wulianfeng mountain range. The mountain ranges above 2700 meters above sea level include dabanchang mountain, shibaping Laolin, Jianshan shamaoding, Shuishan, Longtou mountain, Shizishan, etc. The main rivers are Lengshuihe, laochangping, Xinglong and dahegou.
