Donghan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Fuqing City, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is located at the southeast end of Longgao Peninsula, Fujian Province. Historical evolution

Donghan, formerly known as Dongji, commonly known as Hanjiang River, has only one long strip of land, blocking the waters from north to south. "Wushan in the south, the limit of Central Guizhou", and the vast ocean in the East in the early Ming Dynasty.

According to the records of Minzhong, Donghan was the territory of the 60th capital of pingnanli, Chongde Township, Fuqing County in the eighth year of Qingli period of Song Dynasty. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the upper south corner. From 1910 A.D. to the Republic of China, Gaoshan town was under its jurisdiction. Donghan township was set up in 1949 and returned to the high mountain area in September of the same year. It was called Gaoshan people's commune in September 1958. Donghan people's commune was established in July 1961. It was renamed Donghan Township in September 1984. In October 1992, the township was removed to build a town.
