Maiji Town, belonging to Maiji District, Tianshui, Gansu, is located in the southwest of Maiji District, adjacent to Dang Chuan town in the East, the goddess town near Qinzhou District, West Ganquan Town, Beiyang town in the north, and 106.28 square kilometers in area, and 21119 registered residence population in 2018.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was under the jurisdiction of the second district and Ganquan temple. In 1944, it was merged into Ganquan Town and Dangchuan town respectively. After 1949, Maiji township was established. In 1955, the three townships were merged into Maiji township. In July 1961, Maiji commune was established. In 1983, the commune was changed into a township. In 2003, the township was withdrawn and the town merged. As of June 2020, Maiji town has jurisdiction over 3 communities and 12 administrative villages.
