Tianshui Town, located in Qinzhou District, Tianshui, Gansu, is located in the southwest of Qinzhou City, adjacent to Pingnan town and south to Wang Chuan town. West is connected with salt town, Lixian, north is adjacent to Huqi Town, with an area of 92.02 square kilometers, and in 2018, 31751 people registered residence.
In ancient times, it belonged to xigouqiu, xichugong and Xixian. During the Three Kingdoms period, it was a place of war between Shu and Wei. In the Western Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Shichang county. In the Northern Wei Dynasty, it belonged to Yanglian county. At the end of Southern Song Dynasty, Tianshui County belonged to Tianshui army. After 1270, it was directly under Chengzhou. From the Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, it was Tianshui Li in Chengxian county. After 1949, it belongs to the 15th District of Tianshui county. In 1958, Tianshui commune was established. In 1985, it was assigned to Qincheng district. In June 2002, the township was removed to build a town. In January 2005, it was under the jurisdiction of Qinzhou District. As of October 2019, Tianshui town has 26 administrative villages.

In 1956, Hanyuan, miaoping, Tianshui and Shuangyan were merged into Tianshui.
In 1958, Tianshui commune was established.
In 1961, it was divided into three communes: Hanyuan, Huading and Tianshui.
In 1966, Hanyuan commune was incorporated.
In 1968, Huading commune was incorporated.
In 1983, it was changed to township.
In 1985, it was assigned to Qincheng district.
