Shuangwan Town, subordinate to Jinchang City, Gansu Province, is located in the east of Hexi corridor. It borders zhuwangbao town and Shuiyuan town of Yongchang County in the southeast, ningyuanbao town in the southwest, Alxa Right Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north, and Changning township of Minqin County in the northeast, with an administrative area of 1658.96 square kilometers.

History of construction
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was the ninth protection in ningyuanbao Township, Shuichang county.
In 1949, it was Chenjiagou Township in the fourth district (Ningyuan).
In 1951, dongsigou township was added.
In 1952, tianshengkang township was added.
In 1953, xinxiaogou township was added.
In 1955, xinxiaogou Township and Chenjiagou Township merged into Chenjiagou township; tianshengkang Township and dongsigou Township merged into dongsigou township.
In January 1956, Shuangwan township was established after the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.
In August 1956, it was divided into Chenjiagou Township and dongsigou Township again.
In March 1958, Shuangwan township was merged again; in September, Hongqi commune was established with township as a unit; in November, it was merged into Weixing commune; in December, Weixing commune was renamed Jinchuan commune.
In June 1961, Jinchuan commune was abolished and Chenjiagou commune and dongjiaogou commune were established.
In October 1964, Chenjiagou and dongsigou merged into Shuangwan commune.
In 1981, Jinchang city was established, and Shuangwan commune was directly under its jurisdiction.
