Changsheng township is under the jurisdiction of Lingdong District of Shuangyashan City. Located in the northwest of the city, adjacent to the urban area, it is a suburb of the urban area. The township government is 3 km away from the urban area.
Historical development
Before and after the founding of the people's Republic of China, a large number of farmers moved from other places to Changsheng Township, gradually establishing and forming Fu'an, Xing'an, Shuangcheng, Xiaodonggou, Shuangsheng, Yuancheng, Chang'an and other natural villages. In the autumn of 1953, Fuan village was set up under the jurisdiction of Shagang District, Jixian County. In 1954, it was under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan Mining Area, and Changan township was set up in 1956. In August 1958, the three townships of Chang'an, Shengli and Taichang were merged to form the people's commune, which was named Changsheng people's commune with the initials of "Chang'an" and "Shengli". It was changed to a farm in 1960. In January 1962, the government and enterprises were separated and Changsheng commune was restored. In October 1968, Changsheng commune was abolished and merged into suburban commune. In May 1970, the suburban commune was abolished and Changsheng commune was restored. In March 1984, Changsheng commune was divided into two townships, Changsheng and Zhenxing.
Rural geography
Changsheng township is located in the southern margin of Sanjiang Plain, which belongs to low mountains and hills and beach plain area. The total area of the township is 386 square kilometers, including 20100 mu of cultivated land, mainly planting vegetables, potatoes, wheat and soybeans. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 18.32 million yuan. The township has jurisdiction over 10 villages, including Dongsheng, Dongxing, Dongfeng, Xinxing, Nanyi, Fuqiang, Qingshan, Lixin, Hongwei and Tuanjie. In 1990, the total population of the township was 5083, of which Korean, Manchu and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 2.2%. The township government is located on Chang'an Road in the urban area.
