Zhongchang town belongs to Baihe County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southeast of the county, adjacent to Yun County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province in the East, Zhushan County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province in the south, GouBa town in the West and Chengguan town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 10.2 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 21 km, with a total area of 145.12 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Zhongchang town has one community and eight administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town was 16821. Historical evolution
In the early Qing Dynasty, there were three fire paper factories. The fire paper factory, where the town people's government was located, was located between Tongxin factory and Peijia factory, so it was named Zhongchang.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to BEIXIANG.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was the Xinshan Township in the eastern district.
In April 1948, it belonged to the Fourth District of Baihe democratic county government.
In April 1953, it was changed into three districts.
In October 1955, it was changed to the central plant area.
In March 1956, dianzi township was merged into Zhongchang Township and Xinchang Township into Shunshui township.
In October 1958, Zhongchang was changed into a commune.
In August 1961, it was divided into four communes: Shunshui commune, Daping commune, Zhongchang commune and Xigou commune.
In December 1963, Shunshui, Daping, Zhongchang and Xigou communes were merged to set up Zhongchang.
In November 1996, it was transformed into a medium-sized plant.
In August 2000, Daping Township and Shunshui Township were merged into Daping township.
In August 2002, Daping township was merged into Zhongchang Township and changed into Zhongchang town.
