Xiamiao town

Xiamiao town belongs to Huazhou District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the north of Huazhou District, bordering Liuzhi town in the East, lianhuasi town and Huazhou town in the south, Chishui town in the west, and Sucun town of Dali County across Weihe River in the north. The maximum distance between the north and the south is 7.7 km, and the maximum distance between the East and the west is 8.5 km, with a total area of 49 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, xiamiao town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 10 administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence of Xia temple was 25507. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of xiamiao town was 110 million yuan, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 60 million yuan.

Historical evolution

It was named after the xiaxiyue Temple (the Xiyue temple in Huayin county is the shangmiao Temple) built in Huashan, Xiyue mountain in ancient times.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Huazhou.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was laigong Township in Huaxian county.

In May 1949, it was changed into laigong district.

In July 1953, it was a part of suitable cotton area (once called three areas).

In April 1956, xiamiao Township, Yimian District, was set up.

In April 1957, Yimian district was withdrawn and xiamiao township was directly under the county government.

In September 1958, xiamiao township was renamed Hongxing commune.

In January 1959, it was the xiamiao management area of Huazhou commune in Weinan county.

In September 1961, it was the xiamiao commune in Huaxian county.

In 1984, it was changed to xiamiao township.

In 1998, xiamiao town was established.
