Nanwei town
Nanwei town belongs to Xingping City, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, and is located in the east of Xingping City. It borders Shuangzhao street of Qindu District in the East, Xiwu street in the south, Nanshi town in the West and Dianzhang street in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 10 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 8 kilometers, with a total area of 54.6 square kilometers.
Nanwei town has the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units Maoling Mausoleum of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty. Maoling mausoleum is the largest Mausoleum of the Han Dynasty, which has been built for the longest time and has the richest funerary objects.
As of June 2020, Nanwei town has 17 administrative villages. As of 2018, the population of the southern town registered residence was 44653. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Nanwei town reached 224 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 21.36 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 9.46 million yuan.
Historical evolution
Because the town people's government once stationed in nanweifang (Village), it got its name.
In 1949, nine districts were set up in Xingping, under the jurisdiction of Baiding district (the third district), which was set as Maoling township.
In September 1958, Maoling township was abolished and changed into Yuejin commune. In December of the same year, it was changed into Nanwei commune.
In 1984, it was changed to Nanwei township.
In November 1998, it was changed to Nanwei town.

Maoling
Maoling, the mausoleum of Liu Che, the fifth emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, was built for 53 years. It is the longest and largest Mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty. It is located in Nanwei Town, Xingping City, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It is the westernmost of the Nine Western Han Dynasty mausoleums on Xianyang plateau.
Mausoleum area consists of mausoleum garden, Mausoleum Town, Mausoleum accompanying tomb and mausoleum mender cemetery. Maoling mausoleum is located in the center of the mausoleum area, with walls and ditches to form a plane, which is an east-west rectangle. In the middle of Maoling mausoleum, there are main mausoleum, two mausoleums, eight funerary tombs and 11 architectural relics. The plan is reasonable, the layout is compact and the function is complete. Maoling city is reasonably distributed with residential areas, handicraft areas and so on. The accompanying tombs are distributed around Maoling cemetery, with 113 confirmed by drilling, among which the eastern side is more concentrated, and the tomb level is higher. In addition, Maoling mausoleum area also has a complete road system, as well as the cemetery of Xiuling people.
