Zhoucheng Town, belonging to Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southwest of Qian county. It faces Liangcun town in the East, Sufang town in Wugong County in the southwest, Linping town in the West and North, and Xinyang town in the northeast. The maximum distance from east to west is 7.3 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 7.9 km, covering an area of 33.42 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, Zhoucheng town has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence population was 28642. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Zhoucheng reached 132 million yuan, and the total sales of social goods reached 120 million yuan.

Historical evolution

Because the town people's government is located in the original city of Zhougong.

In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Duke of Zhou built a city and set up a mansion here.

In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Qin Dynasty.

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, shangjuli was divided into Liuli in Xixiang and Heili in Zhoucheng.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Zhoucheng joint insurance was set up.

In 1949, Zhoucheng belonged to Linping District, named Zhoucheng township.

In March 1956, the whole county withdrew districts and merged townships. Zhoucheng, Xinyang and Linping townships belonged to Linping district.

In September 1958, four townships of Zhoucheng, Xinyang, Linping and Shiniu were built into Xinghuo commune.

In 1961, it was renamed Zhoucheng commune.

In 1984, it was changed to Zhoucheng township.

In 2011, Zhoucheng town was changed into Zhoucheng town.

A serious wind disaster occurred at 3:15 p.m. on April 14, 1978. A 15 minute tornado destroyed 90% of the houses in Zhoucheng village. 84 people died, 334 people were injured, 945 houses were destroyed and more than 6000 trees were damaged. The tornado was 300 meters wide from east to west and 7-8 kilometers long from north to south. The electric poles and big trees were broken or uprooted. The 75 horsepower tire tractor of the commune was moved by more than 10 meters, and the chain track tractor was moved by 4-5 meters.
