According to Shiji liuguobiao and Hanshu Jiaosi Zhi, in the 17th year of emperor Xiangong of Qin Dynasty (368 BC), "because of its auspiciousness, Liyang Yujin (a meteorite rain), built a border domain to worship the White Emperor." So it's called Yujin, which is the name.
History of construction
In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to yujinli, with jurisdiction over Yujin, Chenjia, Gaojia, Hanjia, Guanzheng, Majia and other 47 villages.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Yujin town was under the jurisdiction of Erbao, Sanbao, Sibao, Wubao, Liubao, Qibao and Babao, and 47 villages.
After October 1949, Yujin district was set up, with jurisdiction over Yujin, Xinshi, Xinji, Humen and other five townships.
