Hukeng town
Hukeng town is a town under the jurisdiction of Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is located in the southeast of Yongding District, upstream of Jinfeng river. It is connected with Shuyang town of Nanjing County in the East, Luxi of Pinghe County in the southeast, Daxi of Yongding District in the west, Guzhu and Gaotou in the north.
By the end of 2014, Hukeng town had jurisdiction over 16 villages. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Hukeng town was 324.01 million yuan, the total industrial output value was 49.96 million yuan, the total sales of social goods was 56.25 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 6526 yuan.
Hukeng town is the core location of Fujian Tulou. In 2006, Hukeng town was awarded "Fujian civilized village" and "provincial health township" by the provincial Party committee and provincial government; in 2009, Hukeng town was awarded "advanced village in building national civilized village" by the central civilization office; in March 2010, Hukeng town was awarded "national characteristic landscape tourism town" by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and the tourism administration.
In 2017, the administrative area was 10138 hectares, with 11859 permanent residents.
On June 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of provincial rural governance demonstration towns.
Evolution of organizational system
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to jinfengli.
During the Republic of China, there were Zhongjin district and the fourth district. After merging, it was called Nanfeng Township, belonging to the third district, and later Fengtai Township and Zhongjin township.
After the founding of new China, it was called Nanxi District, Shangjin district and the third district.
In 1957, it was called Hukeng township.
In 1958, it was called Hukeng people's commune.
In 1984, it was renamed Hukeng Township, with jurisdiction over 24 villages.
In July 1987, eight villages, including Tailian village, Daxi village, Santang village, Kengtou village, Lianhe village, Juxi village, Hubei village and Huanglong village, were designated as Daxi township. Hukeng Township governs 16 villages.
In 1993, Hukeng township was removed and Hukeng town was built, with the number of villages under its jurisdiction unchanged.
