Tuolin Town, as a place name, belongs to Zada County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region of China, which is a town under the jurisdiction of Zada county. Located in the middle of Zada County, it is 79 ° 8'e and 31 ° 4'n with an average altitude of 3800 meters. Tuolin town is the residence of the people's government, the people's Congress and the Party committee of Zada county. It is also the site of the famous Tuolin temple. The urban area of Zada county has expanded to 0.3 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 2860 (2017). It is the political, economic and cultural center of the county. The town has one community neighborhood committee and two administrative village committees, namely Tuolin community neighborhood committee, Bolin village and Dongga village.
In January 2019, Tuolin town was selected as the seventh batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China.

Tuolin town historically belonged to zaburangzong in Tibet. In October 1956, zaburang Zong and Daba Zong merged to set up Zada Zong office. It belongs to Zada Zong office. In October 1976, zaburang district was established in Zada County, which has jurisdiction over three townships: Tuolin Township, Dongga Township and Bolin township. Later, yixiwo wanted to invite adixia, a prominent Bangladeshi monk, to preach in Ali. In order to raise the bride price, yixiwo went to war everywhere to search for gold. When he led his troops to the state of Gallo to plunder, he was defeated and captured. The king of the state of Gallo claimed to use yixiwo to redeem his gold. Yixiwo refused to be redeemed and asked his descendants to save gold to welcome adixia. After hearing this, adixia was deeply moved and decided to go to Tibet to promote Buddhism. In 1036 ad, adixia, an eminent Indian monk, and his 24 disciples came to Ali to give lectures. He lived in Tuolin temple for six years. He taught Buddhism and refined theory here, and finally wrote many works such as on Bodhi daodeng. Six years of Buddhist teaching promoted the development of Buddhism in Ali area. According to reports, adixia came to Ali to live in Tuolin temple, so Tuolin Temple became famous and its status rose sharply, attracting tens of thousands of monks from the front and back of Tibet. In 1076, religious circles held a Dharma meeting to commemorate the death of adixia in Tuolin temple. Monks from Tibet and Xikang region trudged to attend the meeting, which was known as the "Dharma meeting of the year of the fire dragon" in history, and thus contributed to the revival of Buddhism.
Site of Guge Kingdom
It is a huge group of ancient buildings. It is the capital of the prosperous Guge Dynasty. It covers an area of 180000 m2 and is more than 300 meters high from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. There are more than 600 houses, pagodas, caves and so on. There are walls around and blockhouses at the corner of the city. The most complete and abundant murals are preserved in the site.
