Gamu Township
Gamu township is located in the southeast corner of Suo county. The township government is about 210 kilometers away from the county, which is the most remote Township in the county. It has jurisdiction over 6 villages. The total population is 2400 (2017). The total area of cultivated land is 172 hectares. The total number of livestock on hand is 8958. There are three temples in the area, namely: zhaxijiong temple, JUNBA temple and suxiamu Temple (also known as Sijiang Temple).

Suo County governs the township. It is located in the southeast of the county, adjacent to Dingqing county and Bianba county. The permanent population is 2400 (2017). Jurisdiction Jiagang, Weng ang, Layan, BOLUO, gamuwang, neixi six administrative villages. The township government and villagers are stationed in neixi village.

Township was established in 1966 and commune was established in 1971. In 1988, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. In 1996, with a population of about 13000, it governs six administrative villages, namely, Jiagong, baa'a, Laya, baolao, gamu and Naixi, and the township government is stationed in lari (i.e. gamuwang, Newton, Boduo, neixi, Laping, jiajila and Wange). In 2000, the permanent population of gamu township was 1599 (Wupu). Geography
The township is relatively low altitude, rich in forest resources and wildlife resources, unique scenery and pleasant climate. But at the same time, the task of stopping deforestation is also more arduous. In the past, because of the traffic conditions, gamu township has always been the most inaccessible Township in Suo county. After the completion and opening of Rongbu Xichang gamu highway in 2004, the traffic conditions of the township have been greatly improved and the communication with the outside world has increased. However, it is still one of the three townships that can only be opened seasonally in the county.
