Kangma County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region is under the jurisdiction of the town and the seat of the county people's government. Located in the middle of the county. It was once known as lacommalu, Kangmar, etc.

Kangma town was established in 1960, changed into a commune in 1968, and resumed in 1984. In 1988, Kangma, Langda and Gelong were merged into Kangma Township, and then changed into Kangma town. The total area is 422.4 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 7 village committees and 18 natural villages. The town government is located in Kangma village. The population is 5159 (2017), all Tibetan. The economy is dominated by agriculture and animal husbandry, producing highland barley, wheat, rape, etc., and raising yaks, sheep, goats, etc. Produce Fritillaria, snow lotus, dangshen, etc. There are three primary schools and health centers. Lhasa Yadong highway passes through this area.
