Mengyong Town, Gengma Dai and Wa Autonomous County, Lincang City, is located at 98 ° 46 ′ E and 23 ° 57 ′ n, 75 km away from the county. It borders Zhangtuo township of Linxiang District in the East, Daxueshan township of Yongde County across the Nanting River in the West and Xingfu town of Yun County in the north. It is the main traffic road from Gengma to the mainland, known as the "North Gate" of Gengma. The total land area of the town is 411.76 square kilometers, under which there are 8 villagers' committees and 86 villagers' groups. There are 5662 farmers with a total population of 29916. Mengyong town is subordinate to Gengma Dai and Wa Autonomous County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province. It is 58.5km northeast of Gengma City, bordering Zhangtuo township of Lincang County in the East, Daxueshan of Yongde County across Nanting River in the West and Xingfu township of Yun County in the north. Yanggeng line runs through three Bazi of Xinhe, Mengyong and hedigang in the town, which is the main traffic route connecting three counties and two townships of Gengma and leading to the inland. The terrain is high in the East and low in the north, with the highest altitude of 2313 meters and the lowest altitude of 611 meters. The main rivers are hedigang River, Mengyong River and Manglai river. It has good climate conditions, with the same period of rain and heat, and the same season of dry and cool. The annual accumulated temperature is 6837.2 ℃, the highest temperature is 31.4 ℃, the lowest air temperature is 0.5 ℃, the annual rainfall is 946.2 mm, and there is no frost all the year round. Historical evolution
"Meng" is the name of Dai nationality, and "Yong" means the place to be praised. In 1773, it was one of the nine Mengs in the thirteen circles of nine Mengs in Xuanfu division of Gengma. Mengyong town was established in 1931. It was renamed as Yongping Town, Mengyong District, Yongzhong commune and Mengyong commune in 1940, 1950, 1967 and 1974. Mengyong district was restored in 1984 and Mengyong town in 1987.
