Paomaping township is located in the southern hinterland of Ninglang County, adjacent to chanzhanhe Township in the East, lianzhanhe Township in the south, xibuhe Township in the West and xinyingpan Township in the north. Located in the mountainous area, the main crops are corn, wheat, buckwheat and potato. Local products include Angelica sinensis, Auricularia auricula, fungus, Poria cocos and a variety of wild animal fur. The township government is 47 kilometers away from the county seat, which is located in the south of Ninglang county. It is the only way from Ninglang county to Yongsheng County and Huaping County. The residents are Yi and Han nationalities, with a permanent population of 13783 (2017).

In 2005, more than 400 mu of virus-free potato seed production bases have been built in the whole township to supply the whole Township and promote virus-free potato seed production. Up to now, there are 1500 mu of virus-free potato seed production bases in the whole Township, and the promotion planting area is about 6000 mu.
White kidney bean
White kidney bean is a traditional economic crop in Paomaping Township, with a planting area of about 3000 mu over the years. The price of white kidney bean is rising, the planting area is expanded to about 8000 mu, and the total output is expected to reach about 800 tons.
Animal Husbandry
In 1991, 60 excellent breeding sheep were introduced to the sheep comprehensive demonstration area farm in Paomaping, and 89 excellent breeding pigs were introduced in 2004. After years of development, the rate of excellent varieties is more than 68%.
