Youwang town is one of the towns in Shidian County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. It is located 20 kilometers northwest of Shidian County. It is 99 degrees 04 minutes east longitude and 24 degrees 47 to 24 degrees 53 minutes north latitude. It is adjacent to laomai Township in the East, Heyuan Township and Renhe Town in the south, Taiping Town in the West and Shuichang Township in the north. It is 12.25 km from east to west and 14.5 km from north to south.

Historical evolution
Youwang town is named after Youwang street. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Wangzhai, Shidian, and Yongchang Prefecture. Yongxing township was set up in 1524. Yongsheng township was set up in 1650, the fourth year of Yongli reign in the Southern Ming Dynasty. It was under the jurisdiction of Pingyi Prefecture. Yongxing township was set up again after the Prefecture was cut, and it was subordinate to Baoshan county. Qianlong 35 years (1770) Li Yongchang house, set up Shidian patrol hall.
