Ketian town is located in the northwest of Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County, 129 km away from the county. It borders Wuchuan County of Zunyi City in the southwest, Xinjing town (former Xinjing township) in the East, Hongdu town in the northeast, Houping Township and Tangba town (former Tangba township) in the northwest. It is 17.1 km long from north to South and 16 km wide from east to west, covering 148.5 square kilometers. In 2010, the town has 2 offices, 10 villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 112 villager groups and more than 19000 people.

There are Hongdu River and its tributary, Zhanxi river. Jinzhu mountain and pujiagai face each other. The mountains are high and steep. The highest altitude is 1342 meters, and the lowest altitude is 280 meters. The landform of Zhanxi River and Hongdu river is low and middle mountain gorge and the landform of middle mountain trough dam. The karst area is 135.37 square kilometers, and the non karst area is 10.43 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Hakiti belongs to Fuling County in Han Dynasty, Hanfu County in Shuhan Dynasty, Wuchuan County in Sui Dynasty, Hongdu County in Tang Dynasty, Hongdu County, Pengshui County and Wuchuan County in Song Dynasty.

During the Xianchun period of Song Dynasty, the inspection department of shangya was set up in Aitou, which belonged to Wuchuan County in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

One or two silk waterfall, 117.2 meters high and 23 meters wide, is located in the lower reaches of Ketian River, a secondary tributary of Wujiang River in Ketian village. The Ketian river basin covers an area of 29.3 square kilometers, with an average annual runoff of 0.55 cubic meters per second. Originating from the big well of Pujing village at an altitude of 1200 meters, it flows northward and falls down the ladder cliff 500 meters high (you can see the waterfall during the rainy season) into Ketian village. Liaoyuan reservoir has been built in Zhongtian village to irrigate and regulate the water quantity of Ketian river. In Ketian village, a 3.9-kilometer-long gentle river course is formed. After passing ketianba, hualianba and qidiba, it falls down one or two cliffs 400 meters south of qidiba to form one or two waterfalls, and then flows southward into Hongdu River, with a total length of 9.8 kilometers.
