Lamaya township is under the jurisdiction of Litang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Lama township was established in 1958, the commune was changed in 1974, the township was restored in 1984, and shangzetong village of GEZE township was transferred to Lamaya Township in 1992. Lamaya township is located in the southwest of the county, 75 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 706.3 square kilometers and has a population of 1761 (2017). It has jurisdiction over Menzi, Yinda, geqing and xiaze village committees. The main agricultural products in Lamaya township are highland barley, wheat and potato. On June 17, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Lamaya township.
