Yicheng Street

Yicheng street, a street under the jurisdiction of Yixing City, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the middle of Yixing City. It is the residence of the municipal government and the political, economic and cultural center of Yixing City. It is adjacent to Xinzhuang street in the East, Dingshu town in the south, Xinjie Street in the west, Qiting street and Gaocheng town in the north. With an area of 41 square kilometers and a population of 232148 (2010), it has jurisdiction over 30 community committees and 6 administrative villages. Taking the Wushen canal as the boundary, the inner side of the canal in the area of Yicheng is the jurisdiction; the outer side of the canal is the jurisdiction of Yixing Economic Development Zone, in which the community neighborhood committee, village (Group) and enterprise of Yicheng are entrusted to the management of Yixing Economic Development Zone, and the village (Group) that is not an organic system can set up a new village committee or be incorporated into the adjacent village committee.

In November 2020, it was awarded the title of "the sixth national civilized unit".

In October 2006, Yicheng town was removed from town and set up streets. Yicheng has thousands of years of civilization history, known as the "ceramic capital" and "hometown of professors" and other reputation, the territory of beautiful scenery, East and West are interdependent. Jiangsu Province is the key development of three class I emerging central cities and business service centers radiating Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. It has been rated as China's excellent tourism city, National Garden City, national environmental protection model city, ecological demonstration area and national health city. In 2006, Yicheng was abolished and Yicheng sub district office was set up in its original jurisdiction.

In 2007, Shanlin and Nanyuan village committees under the jurisdiction of Dapu town were put under the management of Yicheng street; Huawei, Dongmei, Xingli, Wenzhuang, Fucun, Dongjiao and bianzhuang were put under the management of Qiting street; Hongta, xiaozhangshu, Songdu, xujiaqiao and Guizhuang were put under the management of Gaocheng town; Lvyuan and Wenzhuang were put under the management of Yicheng street Two neighborhood committees including Nanchang and five village committees including Nanhe, Tongfeng, Nanyue, Meiyuan and Xieqiao merged with the original Xinjie town to establish Xinjie street.

Geographical advantages

Yicheng street is located in the triangle of Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou, with convenient land and water transportation. Wuyi canal and Wushen canal meet in the territory, Xiyi Expressway and Nanjing Hangzhou Expressway are close at hand, and Xinchang railway crosses the border. It has beautiful mountains and rivers, winding mountains in the south, smooth rivers in the north and East and West. It is known as "Yangxian mountains and waters in the south of the Yangtze River". It is a national Taihu Lake scenic spot tourist city.

The infrastructure is becoming more and more complete. There are water companies with a daily water supply of 155000 tons, thermal power plants with an annual power generation of 125000 kilowatts, pipeline gas companies with an annual gas supply of 762000 cubic meters and more than 20000 program-controlled telephones. The information technology is developed, the education layout is reasonable, and the commercial network is dense. Schools, hospitals, finance, commodity inspection, customs direct points and leisure and entertainment places are all available. The industrial economy is developing rapidly. There are more than 200 industrial enterprises, involving machinery, electronics, chemical industry, building materials, textile, light industry and other industries. More than 30 products have been rated as ministerial, provincial and national brand products. More than 40 enterprises have passed the ISO9000 international quality system certification.

The third industry has obvious advantages. Yixing's largest shopping malls, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, etc. are all gathered in the street area of Yicheng, and the circulation of the three industries is very developed. Jiangsu Yixing building materials decoration market has invested nearly 800 million yuan, covering an area of more than 800000 square meters and a construction area of 400000 square meters. It has become the largest building materials market in East China integrating plywood decoration, building materials decoration, ceramics, furniture, chemical coatings, metal materials and hardware lamps.

Historical evolution

In ancient times, it was called jingxiyi and Yangxian city. It was named Shuangxi town in 1946, Yixing town in 1948, Yicheng town in 1949 and Yicheng District in 1954. Hongqi commune was established in 1958, renamed Yicheng commune in January 1959, and Yicheng commune was restored in February 1959. Tongfeng township was incorporated in 1991. In 1997, Shilipai township was incorporated into the city, covering an area of 78 square kilometers and with a population of 130000. On March 17, 2005, the municipal government's reply on agreeing to adjust the 12 villager committee areas including Changwei village of Yicheng town (yizhengfa No. 55) agreed to the following adjustments: 1. Changwei village committee and Xintang village committee are merged, and the merged name is Changxin village committee. 2、 Songdu village committee and zhoujiabang village committee are merged, and the merged name is Songdu village committee. 3、 Houguan village committee and Guizhuang village committee are merged, and the merged name is Houguan village committee. 4、 Tan Village Committee and Tan Jiagan village committee are merged, and the merged name is Tan Village Committee. 5、 Xujiaqiao village committee and Shangbao village committee are merged, and the merged name is xujiaqiao village committee. 6、 Qiaotou village committee and Zhangshu village committee are merged, and the merged name is Zhangshu village committee. The built-up area of the town is 25.96 square kilometers, and the town government is located in Yicheng education West Road, 2 kilometers northwest of the city government.

On March 10, 2006, the municipal government's reply on Approving the cancellation of 10 village committees including Xiyin village in Yicheng town (yizhengfa No. 41) agreed to the following adjustments: 1. Cancel the village committees of Xiyin, Dongshan, Chengnan, Duifang, Donghong, Baota, Yibei and Chengbei, and implement corresponding community management. 2、 The village committees of Tanggong and Yuanqiao were abolished, and Tanggong and Yuanqiao communities were established respectively. On the same day, the municipal government's reply on agreeing to adjust the eight village committee areas including Xiangtou village in Yicheng city (yizhengfa No. 42) agreed to the following adjustments: 1. The Xiangtou village committee is merged with the bianzhuang, xuba and Houguan village committees, and the merged name is Xiangtou village committee. 2、 Tan Fu village committee and former Xing Village Committee were merged, and the merged name was Tan Fu village committee. 3、 Zhangshu village committee and Xiaozhuang village committee are merged, and the merged name is xiaozhangshu village committee.

In 2006, Yicheng was abolished and Yicheng street was set up in its original jurisdiction to manage 38 neighborhood committees and 19 village committees. Taking the Wushen canal as the boundary, the inner side of the canal in the area of Yicheng is the jurisdiction; the outer side of the canal is the jurisdiction of Yixing Economic Development Zone, in which the community neighborhood committee, village (Group) and enterprise of Yicheng are entrusted to the management of Yixing Economic Development Zone, and the village (Group) that is not an organic system can set up a new village committee or be incorporated into the adjacent village committee. The original Hongta town was Hongta Township in 1949, changed to commune in 1959, and changed to township in 1983. In 1999, towns were set up instead of townships. In 1996, it covers an area of 37 square kilometers and has a population of 28000. It has jurisdiction over xuba, tianshe, Qianxing and tanjiagan
