Fenglin Township

Fenglin Township, located in the north of Xuanhan County, is a township under the jurisdiction of Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, 30 kilometers away from Xuanhan county. It covers an area of 36.51 square kilometers and has a population of 5146 (2017).

On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Fenglin township.

Historical evolution

Fenglin township is under the jurisdiction of Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. Fenglin township was established in 1953, Fenglin commune was changed in 1958, and Fenglin township was restored in 1984.

On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Fenglin township.

Administrative planning

Fenglin township is located in the north of Xuanhan county. Fenglin highway is connected with Huangjin Fenglin highway. It has jurisdiction over five village committees: Fenghuang village, MABAN village, Xieping village, Qiaogou village and Dushan village.

Fenghuang Village

Fenglin Township in the mountains, beautiful scenery. The majestic Fenghuang village is also called Fenghuang mountain. It is said that in ancient times, there was a Phoenix who lived on a strange mountain and had a very comfortable life. The weather is good and the people live and work in peace and contentment. One day, a pig farmer found the Phoenix and shot it to death with his bow and arrow. After that, the Fenghuang Mountain collapsed due to strong wind and heavy rain. In order to praise the achievements of Fenghuang, later generations named this mountain Fenghuang mountain or Fenghuang village. Fenghuang village is very strange, dangerous and steep. It is said that you can see Puguang town directly from the top of Fenghuang mountain.

Fenghuang village used to be the headquarters of the Red Army. It is said that it was the headquarters of the "bloody battle of Wanyuan". A variety of fort, bunker, trench, rain and other facilities can be seen everywhere. There is a large temple on Fenghuang mountain, which was destroyed by the war and the cultural revolution. At present, the temple remains are obvious.

Baiyantan

Baiyantan reservoir is located on luanshitan river at the junction of Fengcheng town and Fenglin Township in Xuanhan County, 85 km away from Xuanhan county. The total static investment of the project is 1.315 billion yuan, the total construction period of the reservoir hub is 44 months, and the total construction period of the channel project is 55 months. It is a medium-sized water conservancy project with the main function of irrigation, flood control, urban and rural water supply, and the total storage capacity is 65.57 million cubic meters.
