Laoguan town
Laoguan, affiliated to Langzhong City, Nanchong, Sichuan Province, was identified as a pilot town in 1995, approved as a key town in 2004 and a famous historical and cultural town in Sichuan Province. In September 2005, it was approved as the second batch of Chinese historical and cultural towns. In 2012, it won the title of "the most valuable ancient town in Sichuan Province". In 2013, it was listed as the first batch of "100 towns construction pilot action" towns in Sichuan Province In 2014, it was rated as "the hometown of Chinese folk culture and art", in 2015, it was listed as the first batch of "national pilot towns" in China, and in September 2016, it was awarded "location shooting base of Emei film group" by Emei film group.
Since the second year of emperor Gong of the Western Wei Dynasty (555 AD), Baima Yiyang County was changed into Baima county and Fengguo county was set up. It was Fengguo County in Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties and Song Dynasties, and it was withdrawn in Yuan Dynasty. Fengguo County existed for 728 years. It was renamed Fenggu Township and Chongjin Township in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Until the end of Qing Dynasty, it was the local governing place.
On October 29, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Nanchong to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns (streets) in 7 counties (cities, districts) including Gaoping District

General situation of Laoguan
Laoguan town is located in Langzhong, with beautiful scenery. It has been an important military and commercial place. It is 45 kilometers away from the urban area. After thousands of years of vicissitudes, it still has 1.5 square kilometers of ancient buildings, blocks, pavilions, courtyards and platforms. It has been a famous dry dock since ancient times, and has been a place of military and political importance. The old temple gets its name from the town, where the situation is like a stork, and the new and old two scenes are auspicious. Laoguan has an active economy and a large number of merchants.
In 1995, it was identified as a pilot town in Sichuan Province. In 2004, it was approved as a key town in Sichuan Province and a famous historical and cultural town in Sichuan Province. In September 2005, it was approved as the second batch of Chinese historical and cultural towns, forming a tourism line with Langzhong ancient city.
Laoguan has a long history. According to historical records, the site of laoguanchang was the site of ancient Fengguo county. In 509 ad, Emperor Liang Wu of the Southern Dynasty set up Yiyang County in Baima. In 555 ad, the second year of emperor Gong of the Western Wei Dynasty, Baima Yiyang County was changed into Baima county and Fengguo county was set up. This place was attached to the Wei Dynasty, so it was named Fengguo. In 1283, Fengguo county was abolished and no longer restored. It took 729 years (555-1283 A.D.) from the establishment of Fengguo county to its abolition. Hougeng county was Fenggu Township, Chongjin Township in the Qing Dynasty, Laoguan Township after the founding of the people's Republic of China, and Laoguan Township in 1985. Laoguan has a history of more than 700 years since it was withdrawn from the county.
During the second Civil Revolutionary War, Laoguan became the revolutionary base of Sichuan and Shaanxi and the seat of the Soviet government of Cangxi County. After liberation, Laoguan has been a district and town system.
In 1992, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, Laoguan District Office was abolished, and Xishan, Longping and Tuya under its jurisdiction were merged into Laoguan town. In September 1994, Xishan and Tuya were separated when the system was improved. In September 1996, the District Working Committee was restored, and Longping was separated from Laoguan town. In 2005, when the system was adjusted, Tuya and Longping were merged into Laoguan town again. The history of laoguankekao originated from the Southern Dynasty. It has a history of 1500 years since Tang and Song Dynasties, through the revolutionary era and the reform and opening up in the same way.
Laoguan is in good condition with many relics. There are four hectares of historical blocks and ancient buildings; there are more than 1000 meters of unique ancient streets; there are scattered ancient dwellings; there are unique temples; there are magnificent Kuige and memorial archways; there are red culture marked in the history books.
In the dust and smoke of history, many of the buildings with long history have been destroyed by nature or man-made, but what is left behind becomes the cultural treasures with ancient flavor presented in front of us.
Their simple and exquisite brilliance, together with the street dwellings and revolutionary sites that maintain their original historical appearance, constitute a human heritage with great historical and cultural value. They are indispensable existing cultural relics for the study of ancient architecture and Bashu culture, and also an important resource for the development of Laoguan tourism.
During the second Civil Revolutionary War, Li Xiannian led the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army to establish the Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary base and the Soviet government of Cangxi County of the Communist Party of China. The military headquarters of the red 30 army and the Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary base and other important organs set up Laoguan, launched the famous campaigns of Laoguan peasant uprising, attacking Laojun Mountain at night, jishanliang in the third battle, and so on. Scenic Spots and Historical Sites
After more than 1400 years of history, the old temple has left many memories: the Fengguo Temple site, the ancient granary, the ancient gate, as well as the famous historical figures known as "Sanqiao", Qiao long, Qiao Xuan, Qiao Ying and so on.
Qiaoxuan temple was once an important local temple. When Qiao Xuan died in his hometown, Emperor Guangwu of the Han Dynasty ordered local officials in Langzhong to set up temples for him. Today Qiao Xuan temple does not exist, but Qiao Xuan's name is integrated into Qiao Miaozi village, which is named in memory of him.
At Laoguan market, there is a granary built during the reign of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty. In a folk house, the granary room was still there at that time. Under the corner of the granary, there are channels for grain delivery and boards that can slide up and down. Today, although the walls of the courtyard have been reconstructed, the words "the county loves the people like children" are still clearly visible on the two broken steles in the stone walls.

Laoguan is also the hometown of Luo xiahong, a famous astronomer in the Western Han Dynasty.
Luo xiahong (156-87 B.C.) was an astronomer in the Western Han Dynasty and the main founder of the Taichu calendar. Langzhong, Bajun (now Langzhong, Sichuan). Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty was one of the founders of huntian theory. He once made an astrolabe to observe stars, and created the Taichu calendar, also known as the eighty-one minute calendar, which has a great influence on astronomy.
On September 16, 2004, with the approval of the small objects nominating committee of the International Astronomical Union, an asteroid with international permanent number 16757 was officially named "luoxiahong asteroid" in Beijing to commemorate the famous astronomer luoxiahong who created the first excellent calendar "taichuli" in Chinese history in the Western Han Dynasty.
Cultural characteristics

Fengguo rice comes from Laoguan mountain area of Langzhong City (ancient Fengguo county). The area has beautiful mountains and rivers, good ecological conditions and unique natural environment. The rice bred in this area has become a tribute to the imperial court for its large grain, full grain, good color and good taste. It has a history of more than 2000 years.
After liberation, it has been exported to Europe, America and Southeast Asia. In recent years, it has won many awards, such as "Gold Award" in the West China International Fair, "famous brand in Nanchong", "safe food for the people" and "pollution-free agricultural products" in Sichuan Province.
Laoguan's rice tofu is made from Fengguo rice, which is soaked and swelled. Then it is ground into rice paste and stirred with warm fire to make a paste. From the pot, hands dipped in alkaline water patted into small columns or cut into squares, steaming on the cage can be listed. Fengguo rice tofu must be carefully cut into thin slices, pasted on the surface of the pan, added with clear oil Kang to slightly yellow, and then put salt, scallion, spicy, pepper and other spices into the pan to stir well, which is a crispy, delicious, sweet, salty and spicy fried "tofu".
