History of construction
In 1911, Yuqiao Township belonged to five districts of Dongguang County.
In 1949, it belonged to six districts.
In 1956, it belonged to renjiafang township.
In September 1958, it belonged to Hongxing commune. In December of the same year, it belonged to Hongxing commune of Jiaohe county.
In June 1961, Dongguang County restored its organizational system and established renjiafang commune, Chenfang commune and Wangla commune.
In 1984, it was changed to Yuqiao Township, Chenfang Township and Wangla township.
In February 1995, Chenfang Township and Wangla Township were merged into Qiaoxiang township.
