Yongnian town

Yongnian town of Fushun county is located in the west of Fushun County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, 12 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 64.4 square kilometers. It governs 24 administrative villages and 1 community. The total population is 48400, and the cultivated area is 27800 mu. Water and land transportation is convenient, with Chuanyun highway and dengkong highway passing through the territory, and Tuojiang River and its tributaries Fuxi River and Zhenxi river passing through the town. Highway, closed circuit television and telephone are connected to every village. It is one of the pilot towns of small town construction in Sichuan Province.

On August 31, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Zigong City to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns: pengmiao town was canceled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Yongnian Town, and the people's Government of Yongnian town was stationed at 69 Hexie street.

The origin of the name

This place is named "liushuigou" because of the long flow of spring water. In 1871, Wu Dingli, the magistrate of Fushun County, took the meaning of "Yongan Jue ye, Changle Younian" and named it "Yongnian", and set up Yongnian field. This is the origin of the name "Yongnian".
