Hongpailou sub district office, referred to as hongpailou sub district, is located in the southwest of Wuhou District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, southwest corner of Chengdu City, east of high tech Zone, west of Qingshui River, north of Shuangnan street, south of Chujin, Huaxing and Jinyang streets. It covers an area of about 6.36 square kilometers and has a total population of 105770 (in 2010). It has jurisdiction over 5 administrative villages and 7 communities. There are second ring road, Third Ring Road, Chuanzang Road, Wuhou Avenue, Caojin road and Jiuxing Avenue. The office is located at 16 Yongsheng South Street.

Historical evolution

During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the king of Shu built an archway on the Bank of the original yongfengchang. The purpose of building the archway is to accept the tribute from the local government of Tibet and the trade of Tibetans here. That is to paint the archway red according to the Tibetan custom. The name of "red archway" begins here.

In 1913, the area of "hongpailou" was named "yongfengchang", belonging to Huayang county.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China in January 1951, Yongfeng Township was assigned to Chengdu City, and Yongfeng Township was set up in 1951.

In 1997, with an area of 18 square kilometers and a population of 46000, it has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages, namely Xinrong, Nanjiao, Yuantong, Xinguang, Wuhou, Longzhao, Shuangnan, Taiping, Xiaojiahe, Hetao and Baihua. It covers an area of 18 square kilometers and has a population of more than 12000. After the reform and opening up, the system of Yongfeng Township has been adjusted several times.

On May 27, 2004, the people's Government of Sichuan Province (No. 16, Chuanfu civil administration) agreed to abolish the system of Yongfeng Township in Wuhou District and implement the sub district office management system in its administrative region.

In March 2007, Wuhou District government adjusted the sub district jurisdiction. Qidaoyan community, guangfuqiao community, hongpailou North Street community and Biyun Road community are under the jurisdiction of Shuangnan street. After the adjustment, the jurisdiction area is 5.77 square kilometers and the population is about 41000. The office is still located at No. 15, West Section 1 of the second ring road.
