Luoping Town, subordinate to Wushan County, Chongqing City, is located in the northeast of Wushan County, bordering Yanduhe town of Badong County, Hubei Province in the East, Sanxi Township in the south, Jinping Township in the West and Zhuxian Township in the north. It is 38 kilometers away from the residence of Wushan County Government, with a total area of 159.4 square kilometers.
Before 1949, Luoping town was located in Sanbao, Sibao and Shibao of Yuanyang Township in the first district; in April 1992, Luoping, shaping and Yuanyang Township were merged to build Luoping town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Muling town was 29733. As of June 2020, Luoping town has one community and 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and its people's government is located at 62 Qingquan street.
The main food crops in Luoping town are wheat and corn; animal husbandry is mainly raising pigs, sheep and poultry; industry is mainly wood processing, mechanical processing and building materials. In 2018, Luoping town had 12 industrial enterprises and 34 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
Before 1949, three, four and ten fortresses belonged to Yuanyang Township, the first district.
In April and October 1953, two townships, Luoping and Baishui, were set up from Yuanyang township.
In March 1955, Yuanyang and Baishui townships were merged into Luoping Township, belonging to Leping district.
In April 1956, Guanqi township was merged into Luoping township.
In April 1958, Luoping commune was established.
In May 1962, Luoping commune established Yuanyang commune and shaping commune 2.
In April 1984, Luoping commune was changed into Luoping township.
In April 1992, Luoping, shaping and Yuanyang townships merged to build Luoping town.
In September 1995, Yuanyang township was established.
In November 2003, Yuanyang township was merged into Luoping town.
In June 2004, Chuyang township was merged into Luoping town.
