Shetan Town, belonging to Fengdu County of Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Fengdu County. It is adjacent to Baohe town in the East, Shuren town in the southeast, Huwei town in the south, Renyi Township in Fuling District in the west, Dianjiang County in the northwest, Hongxing Township in the north and Baohe town in the northeast. It is 37 kilometers away from Fengdu county government, with a total area of 101.5 square kilometers.
In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1940), the area around Shetan town was called Shetan township; in August 1992, it was changed from Shetan township to Shetan town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 47817. As of June 2020, Shetan town has one community and 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and its people's government is located at 62 zhangyemiao street.

In 1940, Shetan township was established.
