History of construction

In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Sanhui township of Pengshui County.

In January 1953, Yangliu township was rebuilt; in October of the same year, it was transferred from Pengshui to Wulong district.

In May 1955, the government of Yangliu Township moved to liaoya. Because of the same name as Yangliu township of Yangjiao Town, it was renamed Haokou township.

In September 1958, Haokou commune was rebuilt.

In January 1984, the commune was withdrawn and Haokou township was restored.

In October 2009, Haokou township was changed into Haokou Miao Gelao township.
