Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone
Located in the west of Qixia District, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone is one of the top ten national development zones in China, a national eco industrial demonstration park, a world-class photoelectric display industrial base and a national Yangtze River shipping and logistics hub. The Party Working Committee and Management Committee of the development zone are the agencies of Nanjing municipal Party committee and Nanjing municipal government, and enjoy the municipal level management authority.
Development and evolution
Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as Nanjing Development Zone) was established on September 18, 1992. As of the end of 2017, the development zone covers an area of 200 square kilometers, with four functional areas including industry, bonded storage, finance and trade and comprehensive services. It was approved as a provincial Development Zone by Jiangsu provincial government in November 1993. It was approved as a national economic and Technological Development Zone by the State Council on March 15, 2002. On March 10, 2003, the State Council approved the establishment of a National Nanjing export processing zone in the development zone. On July 1, 2003, the Management Committee of the Development Zone successfully passed the ISO14001 environmental management system certification, implemented the "service commitment system" and "first inquiry responsibility system", and implemented the workflow of "one-time acceptance, parallel examination and approval, limited time settlement, and charging".
In the past 10 years, the development zone has witnessed rapid development of various construction undertakings, increasingly perfect infrastructure, fruitful investment promotion and strong momentum of characteristic economy. The total economic volume is growing rapidly. Since 1995, some major economic indicators of the development zone have been increasing year by year at a rate of more than 50%. The total income of technology, industry and trade, profits and taxes, and foreign exchange earnings from exports have increased from 3 billion yuan, 230 million yuan, and 14.15 million US dollars in 1996 to 20.5 billion yuan, 1.92 billion yuan, and 390 million US dollars in 2001. The development zone has won the first place in the comprehensive evaluation of provincial development zones for several consecutive years, and has been repeatedly rated as "advanced development zone", "meritorious unit in building new Nanjing" and "excellent unit in export-oriented economic work" by provinces and cities. The Development Zone adheres to the road of innovation driven, endogenous growth and green development, vigorously develops high-tech enterprises with independent intellectual property rights, strengthens the introduction and cultivation of core technologies, promotes the transformation and upgrading of leading industries, and becomes a high-tech industrial cluster. There are more than 60 scientific and technological innovation platforms in the region, including national, provincial and municipal engineering technology research centers, enterprise technology centers, academician workstations, and postdoctoral innovation and practice bases. At the end of the eleventh five year plan, the output value of high-tech industries accounted for 72.5% of the industrial output value of the park.
Established in September 1992, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone is located in the northeast of Nanjing City, with Jinxiu Zhongshan in the south, the Second Yangtze River Bridge in the west, xinshengwei foreign trade port and Longtan deepwater port in the north, and the golden coastline of the Yangtze River. It is divided into Xingang, Qixia, Longtan and LCG.
Over the past 20 years since its establishment, the development zone has absorbed more than 180 billion yuan of domestic and foreign investment, the annual industrial output value of leading industries has exceeded 100 billion yuan, the high-tech output value, major R & D institutions, talent introduction, scientific and technological innovation, etc. are in the forefront of the city, and the comprehensive investment environment is in the forefront of the national economic and Technological Development Zone. Relying on Longtan deepwater port as an important hub of river sea intermodal transport in the Yangtze River Basin, and Xianlin Science City's urban functions and advantages of science and education resources, the development zone is focusing on the development of photoelectric display, biomedicine, high-end equipment, modern logistics, science and technology services and other industries, accelerating the transformation to a first-class international high-tech industrial new city.
In 2015, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone achieved a total industrial output value of 371.1 billion yuan, a regional GDP of 85.01 billion yuan, and a total import and export value of 21.65 billion US dollars.
In 2019, the total output value of large-scale industries will reach 300.307 billion yuan, accounting for 98.5% of the total output value of large-scale industries in the region, with a year-on-year growth of 5.1%, which is the top priority of the industry in the region.
By the end of 2019, there are 473 entrepreneurs in Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, including 241 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, 41 Construction Enterprises above qualified size, 95 other service industries above Designated Size, 88 commerce and trade enterprises above Designated Size, and 8 real estate development enterprises above qualified size.
In 2019, the main operating revenue of Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size in Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone is 291.685 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 0.61%; the comprehensive energy consumption is 7.4519 million tons of standard coal, with a year-on-year decline of 3.5%; the raw coal consumption is 9.2425 million tons, with a year-on-year decline of 2.1%; the general public budget revenue is 10.15 billion yuan, accounting for 68.5% of the whole region, with a year-on-year growth of 5.53%; the total import and export of foreign trade is 842.5% 3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%; the actual use of foreign capital was 690 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 19.2%.
In February 2021, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone was identified as one of the first batch of industrial cooperation demonstration parks of China, Japan and South Korea (Jiangsu).
geographical position
Located in Qixia District of Nanjing City, the development zone is adjacent to Zhongshan in the south, the Second Yangtze River Bridge in Nanjing in the west, xinshengwei foreign trade port and deepwater Longtan port in the north, and xinshengwei foreign trade port of Nanjing port, the largest inland port in Asia, with a planning area of 13.37 square kilometers (including Wulongshan scenic spot). There are four functional zones in the zone: industry, bonded storage, finance and trade and comprehensive services. Qixia District, with an area of 340 square kilometers and a coastline of 84 kilometers, is an important petrochemical, automobile, electronics, building materials industrial zone and an enterprise, capital, talent and technology intensive zone in Nanjing, providing a broad hinterland for the development of the development zone. Xianlin University Town adjacent to the development zone covers an area of 47 square kilometers. It is composed of University concentration area, science and technology industry area and high-end living area. It has a beautiful environment and a strong cultural atmosphere. It has many universities, scientific research institutions and other cultural institutions. It is a modern information communication platform and one of the largest cyberports in China, providing strong talent and intellectual support for the development zone. Port
Xinshengwei foreign trade port, the largest inland trade port in China, has 15 10000 ton berths for bulk cargo and liquid cargo, and 188 ports in 78 countries and regions.
Longtan deepwater port, the largest inland container port in China, has three 10000 ton berths, an annual handling capacity of 1 million TEUs, and a B-type bonded logistics center.
Railway
Nanjing Chengbei railway ring line goes directly to the development zone and connects with the main lines of Jinpu, Huning and Anhui Jiangxi railways through yaohuamen marshalling station, the largest freight marshalling station in East China. Nanjing railway station is about 15 minutes away from the development zone; Nanjing high speed railway south station, the largest railway passenger station in Asia, is about 25 minutes away from the development zone; Shanghai Nanjing intercity railway has Xianlin station beside the Development Zone, which implements high-density and public transportation operation.

The development zone is about 40km away from Nanjing Lukou International Airport, the fifth largest airport in China. It is only 30 minutes' drive away. The airport has opened more than 100 domestic and international passenger and cargo routes to the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions.

Qixia Avenue and Erqiao Expressway connect the development zone with Nanjing Ring Road, airport expressway and six national highways around Nanjing (Nanjing Shanghai, Nanjing Hangzhou, Nanjing Malaysia, Nanjing Hefei, Nanjing Lianyungang and Nanjing tongyungang Expressway) to form a three-dimensional modern land transportation network.
Urban transportation
A number of bus lines in the area go directly to the main urban area.
Metro Line 1 has stations around the Development Zone, and Metro Line 2 goes directly to Nanjing LCD valley.

In December 2018, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone was awarded the 11th National Economic and Technological Development Zone in 2018.

Nanjing export processing zone
It was established with the approval of the State Council on March 10, 2003. In the same year, it was planned and constructed. In September 2003, it passed the joint acceptance of eight ministries and commissions of the State Council and was officially closed. Nanjing export processing zone covers an area of 1.5 square kilometers, which is under the special supervision of the customs. Enterprises in the Zone enjoy preferential policies such as customs clearance, taxation and foreign exchange management, and can complete all import and export procedures without going out of the zone.
Nanjing Xingang national high tech Industrial Park
It was established with the approval of the State Science and Technology Commission in January 1997, with a planned area of 5 square kilometers. In the zone, high-tech enterprises gather, high-tech products are numerous, and various R & D institutions are complete.

Nanjing cross strait science and Technology Industrial Park
It was established in September 1997 with the approval of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the State Science and Technology Commission, with a planned area of 3.5 square kilometers. Taiwan funded enterprises in the zone are mainly engaged in the production and sales of electronic components, backlight modules and related components of flat panel display devices, LCD TV sets (displays), storage, transportation, processing and sales of petrochemical products, production and sales of biomedical products and daily chemical products.
National (Nanjing) display Industrial Park
It was named by the Ministry of information industry in May 2005. The technology level of new flat panel display products in the region is leading in the world, and the industrial scale and the number of backbone enterprises are leading in China.
