Wujian town
Wujian Town, subordinate to Yongchuan District of Chongqing City, is located in the south of Yongchuan District, adjacent to Hegeng town in the East, Xianlong town in the south, Ji'an town in the northwest and Weixing Lake Street in the northeast. It is 20 kilometers away from the residence of Yongchuan District People's government, with a total area of 37.7 square kilometers.
In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), Wujian town was located in Wujian Township, belonging to the Fifth District; in November 1992, Wujian and Xinjian two townships merged to set up Wujian town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in five towns was 25809. As of June 2020, Wujian town has one community and seven administrative villages, and the people's Government of Wujian town is located in Wujian town.
In 2018, there were 48 industrial enterprises in the five towns, including 5 above scale and 30 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In 1933, Wujian town was located in Wujian Township, belonging to the Fifth District.
In 1950, it belonged to the seventh district.
In 1953, Wujian township was divided into Xinjian Township, Dashi Township, Fulin Township and Wujian township.
In April 1956, the four townships were merged into two townships of Xinjian and Wujian.
In September 1958, the two townships were merged into five communes.
In 1959, the five communes were divided into five communes and two new communes.
In 1983, five communes and two new communes were transformed into townships.
In November 1992, Wujian and Xinjian two townships merged to set up Wujian town.
