Lvgongbao town belongs to Renqiu City, Hebei Province, located in the middle of Hebei Province, east of Renqiu City. With a total area of 51.7 square kilometers and a permanent population of 41235 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages and the town government is located in Nantou village of lvgongbao.

Historical evolution

Lvgongbao village was built in the Tang Dynasty. It was named after the tomb of LV Gong in the northwest of the village, which is said to be the tomb of LV Dongbin. It belongs to Changfeng County, mozhou, Hebei Province. In the first year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty (936), Shi Jingtang gave the sixteen prefectures of Youyun to Qidan, and LV Gongbao belonged to Qidan. In 959, Chai Rong recovered. In 1073, Changfeng County was merged into Renqiu County, and lvgongbao belonged to it. Lvgongbao town was established in the early Qing Dynasty. in 1759, the 24th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, it was the lvgongbao community, governing 27 villages. In March 1939, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Renqiu County of the Communist Party of China divided Renqiu County into nine districts, five to the south of the lugongbao highway and seven to the north of the highway. In August 1940, Renhe county was established and the five districts were assigned to Renhe county. In October 1949, Renhe county was abolished, and lvgongbao was under the jurisdiction of ten districts of Renqiu. In May 1953, lvgongbao township was established under the jurisdiction of four districts of Renqiu, and Lihua township was established under the jurisdiction of five districts. In 1958, lvgongbao Township and Dongfanghong people's commune implemented the system of integration of government and society. In 1960, lvgongbao township was changed into lvgongbao people's commune. In 1983, the people's commune of lvgongbao was abolished and the organizational system of lvgongbao township was restored. In 1985, lvgongbao township was abolished and lvgongbao town was established. In March 1986, Renqiu was removed from the county and set up a city, while lvgongbao town was still Renqiu.

Lugongbao town is located in the east of Renqiu City, 18 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Majiawu town and Liangzhao town in the west, Changfeng town in the East, Wen'an County in the north and wofotang town in Hejian City in the south.
