Siping town

Siping Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Jiangjin District, Chongqing, is located in the southeast of Jiangjin District, Chongqing. It has a famous national AAAAA Simian Mountain scenic spot. Siping town was approved to be established on December 1, 2014. It governs four villages of simian, Yinyan, Wanglong and Qingyan in the former simian Town, and one community of simian farm in the former simian town. In 2017, Siping town had an administrative area of 60 square kilometers and a permanent population of 10655.

In December 2016, Siping town won the title of "best rural tourism destination in China". On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the National Health township (county) naming list of 2017-2019 cycle.

Historical evolution

20 years ago, in order to build Simian Mountain scenic spot, Jiangjin removed simian township; 20 years later, in order to further develop tourism, Jiangjin restored the administrative system of old Simian Mountain - according to the news from Jiangjin district government, the municipal government officially approved the establishment of Siping town in old Simian Mountain on November 25, in order to speed up the construction of Simian Mountain National Tourist Resort.

On November 25, 2014, according to the reply of the municipal government, the newly established Siping town is mainly composed of three villages and one community, including simian village, Yinyan village and simianchang community, which are zoned out from Simianshan Town, and Qingyan village, which is zoned out from Bolin Town, covering an area of 60 square kilometers.

In fact, in order to develop tourism in simian mountain area, Jiangjin has adjusted the administrative division of the area many times. In 1988, Toudaohe township was abolished and Simianshan town was set up, which is located in Toudaohe; in 1994, Simianshan township was withdrawn and merged into Simianshan Town, which is called old Simianshan since then; in 2004, Simianshan town was abolished and Simianshan Management Committee was established; in 2008, Simianshan Management Committee worked with Jiangjin Tourism Bureau; in 2011, Jiangjin Tourism Bureau no longer worked with Simianshan Management Committee and established Simianshan town, Work with Simian Mountain Management Committee.

Each administrative division adjustment has played a positive role in the development of Simian Mountain scenic spot, which was named provincial scenic spot in 1989, national key scenic spot in 1994 and national 4A scenic spot in 2006. In particular, in the past three years, Jiangjin has taken the creation of a national 5A scenic spot as the starting point, and the infrastructure, reception facilities, tourism supporting facilities, and Tourism Standardization Construction of the scenic spot have all reached a big step. The tourist reception has increased from 1 million in 2011 to 1.86 million in 2013.

The purpose of establishing Siping town is to build Simian Mountain National Tourist Resort

The purpose of setting up Siping town in Jiangjin this time is to develop tourism. It is to build a new Simian Mountain National Tourist Resort in the old Simian Mountain area close to the core scenic spot of simian mountain, so as to promote Simian Mountain Tourism from sightseeing to leisure.

Over the years, although Simian Mountain scenic spot has developed rapidly, its development is relatively backward because the old Simian Mountain is not in the core scenic spot. The opening of Jiangjin Xishui Expressway highlights the late development advantages of this area in the development of pension, summer vacation, leisure real estate and other industries.

According to the plan, Jiangxi expressway will set up an interchange in Dongsheng, which will reach Siping town 7 km after the next road and reach Simian Mountain scenic spot directly. After the completion of Jiangxi expressway, it only takes one and a half hours to drive from the main city to Siping town. Siping town is flat with an altitude of 800m to 1200m, surrounded by Bijia mountain, Xuanwu mountain, Shizishan mountain, Hengdan mountain and other four mountains as barriers. With high forest coverage, Siping town is an ideal place for the development of tourist resorts.

Therefore, the simian mountain tourist resort in Jiangjin is mainly located in the old Simian Mountain, and is named as one of the 10 municipal tourist resorts by the Municipal Tourism Bureau. Once the Jiangxi expressway is completed and opened to traffic, it will become the nearest municipal tourist resort to the main city.

Therefore, Jiangjin has put forward a higher goal for simian mountain tourist resort, which requires three years to build it into a national tourist resort, and Siping town emerges as the times require. Because the place name of Simian Mountain has been used, the Jiangjin district government, through extensive consultation, named Siping town according to the geographical characteristics of its four mountain barrier.

It is understood that the former simian township area is far away from the residence of the town government, with high mountains and steep roads, inconvenient transportation and difficult administrative management. In the past, problems such as difficulties in handling affairs, going to school and seeing a doctor were more prominent, and the masses strongly reflected.

After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Siping town is newly established, and the town government is stationed in the former simian township government office building, which is conducive to strengthening the administrative management of the area, enhancing the service ability, facilitating the masses to handle affairs, and improving the quality of production and life of the masses.

Development goals

On December 5, 2016, the author learned from Siping town that Siping town won the title of "China's best rural tourism destination" at the second National Symposium on ecological civilization construction and the results conference of cities and scenic spots co sponsored by Xinhua news agency, half moon magazine and China national conditions investigation and research center.

In the past two years, the Party committee and government of Siping town have focused on the concept of ecological priority and green development, and built a landscape rural tourist resort in accordance with the goal of "successfully creating a national tourist resort in three to five years, and building a domestic leading and international first-class tourist resort in five to ten years". We should speed up the construction of roads, supporting infrastructure and tourism guarantee facilities in an all-round way, and spare no effort to build Chongqing citizens' preferred ecological residence, China selenium ecological health resort city and international eco-tourism resort destination.
