Xihuaiba town belongs to Lueyang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the Northwest Mountainous Area of Lueyang County, adjacent to matiwan town in the East, Xujiaping town in the south, Kangxian County in Gansu Province in the west, Chengxian County in Gansu Province in the northwest and Baishuijiang town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 17.6 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 14.04 kilometers, with a total area of 118 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
The town government is located in the west of xihuaiba River (also known as Xihan River).
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to xihuai Babao, Mingzhu Township, Lueyang county.
In December 1949, xihuaiba township was established.
In 1956, Xiancun township was incorporated into the city.
In 1958, it was changed into a management area under Xujiaping commune.
In 1961, xihuaiba commune was established.
In 1984, it was changed into xihuaiba Township, belonging to Xujiaping district.
In April 1996, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, belonging to the township directly under the county.
In July 2011, xihuaiba town was rebuilt.
