History of construction
During the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to liduli and xieshili in Fuzhou.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to BaiShiLi, Fuzhou. In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Lidu Town, the first district of Fuzhou.
After October 1931, it belonged to the Fourth District of Fuling County, and it was still located in Lidu town. After May, 1935, it belonged to the third district of Fuling County, with towns such as Lidu, Shilong and Jinyin.
At the beginning of 1950, Lidu town was still established, belonging to the third district.
In January 1951, Lidu town was divided into Shima township.
In 1983, Shima township was incorporated into Lidu town.
