Gender equality culture
Qianjiang was the first area to advocate equality between men and women. In the feudal dynasty, when "men are superior to women" and "no talent is virtue for women", Qianjiang women and men had the right to go to private schools to receive education; chieftain conscription allowed women to join the army; they also shouldered the heavy responsibilities of the family and worked together with men in the field; their married daughters also had the right to go home and live, and they could also go home To share some of my parents' legacy.
The equality between men and women in Qianjiang feudal period was not as absolute as in modern times. In feudal society, women were also bound to a certain extent. For example, a woman can study but not participate in politics; a woman can join the army but not lead the army; a man can have three wives and four concubines, while a woman can only have one husband; even a rich son-in-law has the right to concubine.
The two sides of Qianjiang go through marriage culture
Qianjiang is the first area in Asia where men and women are equal, and also the first area to accept the marriage custom of "men come to the door". The most famous one is the characteristic of marriage custom. In marriage custom, it abides by "bilateral walk", which means equal status in marriage. The names of the children born to their parents are the same as those of the elders of Fang's family. They are all called "Uncle" and "grandparents" instead of "Uncle" and "grandparents". My sister's husband is not called brother-in-law, but brother.
