Fengxi town
Fengxi town is under the jurisdiction of Chaoan District, Chaozhou City. It was divided into one district in 1950, Fengxi town was built in 1956, the commune was changed in 1958, and the town was built in 1983. It has 33 administrative districts and 4 neighborhood committees. In 1992, Chenqiao and other 13 management areas and a forest farm were set aside for Fengxin street of Xiangqiao district. It has an area of 24.8 square kilometers and a population of 87000.
Fengxi town has 21 management areas, including Fengxi No.1, Fengxi No.2, Changmei No.1, Changmei No.2, Huxia, Qianjin, gubantou, ditou, yunbu, Dongtian, Yangtou, Yingtang, Quanfu, Gaoxia, xibian, shanbian, huaishangang, Licuo, zhancuo, Tianlong and Baita, and 4 neighborhood committees, namely Huaide, Shiqiao, Zhouyuan and Changmei.
Fengxi town government is located near Anjie highway (Xinfeng Road), connecting with the urban area, 20 km away from Chaoan urban area. Anjiao highway, Chaoshan highway, dike protection road and Guangmeishan railway transit. The industry includes ceramics, clothing, construction, transportation, building materials and so on. Ceramics is the pillar of Fengxi industry. Agriculture mainly produces rice, vegetables and fruits. There are provincial ceramic schools, ceramic research institutes, municipal ceramic companies and exhibition halls of Nanguo porcelain township. Fengxi District Management Committee of Chaozhou City is set up in the town.
In October 2019, Fengxi town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Historical evolution
As early as the Neolithic age, people lived in Fengxi (town). Yuanfeng period of Northern Song Dynasty (1078-1085) belonged to Dahe, Guiren and Dengyun capitals of Haiyang county. The Qing Dynasty was the capital of Dahe, Dengyun, Denglong, dengrong, Nanxiang, Xixiang and BEIXIANG in Haiyang county.
According to the Haiyang county annals written by Lu Weiyou, the villages of Fengxi (town) at that time belonged to Nanxiang capital, Gongshang, caixilong, Chihu, Rengqian, Shilu and Fengxi to Xixiang capital, Chenqiao, Xinpu, Shimu, hourenjia, Fengshan, Huayuan, gaocuotang, Xinxiang, liandun, Yunli, Zhuwei, Tiandong, Xiangtou, Dayuan, Xitang and yuntigang to BEIXIANG capital (now Xiangqiao District); Changmei, Huxia and fuquangang belong to guirendu; longzengzhai and luocuozhai belong to dengrongdu; Yingtang, zanglong, longzang (now Gaoxia), Baita, xibian, gubantou, gouwei and huaizigou belong to Dahe; ditou, Dongbian, Quanfu, Yangtou, yunbu, xiangxia, Dongpu and Tiantou belong to dengyundu. Tiantou belongs to denglongdu. At that time, there were two Tiantou townships. The Tiantou of dengyundu is still called Tiantou today, and the Tiantou of denglongdu is called Tiantou he today.
At the beginning of the Republic of China, every village in Fengxi (town) was divided into Nanxiang District, Xixiang District, BEIXIANG district (now Xiangqiao District), Guiren District, Dahe District, Dengyun District, Denglong district and dengrong district.
In 1914, Haiyang county was renamed Chao'an county, and its division was adjusted. Fengxi (town) villages belong to Chao'an county, in the urban area (District 1), Yunlong District (District 6) and Renhe district (District 2).
In October 1949, the attached Urban District Department of Chao'an county was established. It was under the jurisdiction of 23 villages in towns (Chengguan town in the period of the Republic of China) and Xixiang, BEIXIANG and Nanxiang (Township Office in the period of the Republic of China). Most villages in Fengxi (town) belonged to the attached Urban District Department.
In 1950, the ninth district was separated from the second district. Some villages in Fengxi (town) belonged to the ninth district.
In March 1950, 12 villages (Fengxi, Chihu, cailong, Jijie, Shazhou, Xiasi, dazhutian, xindongxi, Lianyun, Chenqiao, Qisheng and Fengshan) were set up from the attached Urban District Department.
In May 1953, Changmei Township and gubantou Township were divided into the first district from the second and the ninth district respectively.
In 1954, the three townships of Jijie, Shazhou and Xiasi (originally a district) were assigned to Chaozhou City.
In 1956, four townships and one town were established, namely: CHENQiao township (including Chenqiao and Fengshan), Chihu township (including Chihu, cailong and gubantou), xindongxi township (including xindongxi, dazhutian and Lianyun), yunbu township (including yunbu and Dongtian) and Fengxi township (including Fengxi and Changmei).
In 1957, when the township was merged, four townships were removed, and their administrative areas were merged into Fengxi town. At the same time, Huaishan Hill (Huaishan hill at that time included huaizigou, shanbian, Licuo, and zhancuo) in Fengtang township was divided into Dongpu and Xigang villages under the jurisdiction of Guxiang.
In the spring of 1958, Qisheng township was assigned to Chaozhou City; in September, Fengxi people's commune was composed of 24 senior communes (including 73 natural villages), including 11 senior communes under the jurisdiction of Fengxi Town, 3 senior communes in the suburbs of Chaozhou Town, 4 senior communes in Fuyang Township and 6 senior communes in Fengtang township.
In January 1959, Chaozhou City was changed into Chengguan town under the jurisdiction of the county, and the three senior communities (Xiasi, Shazhou and Jijie) previously included in the suburb of Chaozhou Town were rezoned into Chengguan town.
In 1961, Fengxi branch commune was set up, with five brigades of Fengyi, Fenger, Meiguang, Shiyue, Huxia and three streets in the town under the jurisdiction of the branch commune. In 1962, the branch commune was withdrawn and its administrative area was merged into Fengxi commune.
In 1964, Fengxi town (commune level) was separated from Fengxi commune, with three management areas.
In April 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Fengxi people's commune was established. In 1970, the management area was renamed the residents committee.
In 1973, three neighborhood committees were expanded to four.
In 1974, the town system was restored and the street Revolutionary Committee of Fengxi town was established, with jurisdiction over four neighborhood committees.
In October 1977, it was transferred from Tiandong commune to Shitian commune, Dahu commune and Xiaohu commune under the jurisdiction of Fengxi commune.
In 1978, the neighborhood committee was changed into a sub district office.
In November 1980, the commune and the Seventh People's Congress of the town were approved. Fengxi commune was renamed the Management Committee of Fengxi commune, and the street Revolutionary Committee of the town was renamed the people's Government of the town. In December, Shitian, Dahu and xiaohulu were returned to Tiandong commune.
In June 1983, when the pilot system reform was carried out, the people's commune was abolished, the people's Government of Fengxi town was merged with the town, the party, government and enterprises were separated, and the administrative system of the town leading the countryside was established. In September, it was ordered to change the town into a district (town level district), with a district Party committee and a district office, both of which are the municipal Party committee and the agency of the municipal government; the town also has a town Party committee and a town people's government, which are actually a set of manpower and two signboards.
In 1985, four neighborhood offices in Fengxi town were changed into neighborhood committees.
In 1987, Fengxi district was withdrawn, and its administrative area was merged into Fengxi town. A new Party committee and people's Government of Fengxi town were established.
At the end of 1991, the organizational system of Chao'an county was restored. Fengxi town belongs to Chao'an county and is the residence of the county Party committee and people's Government of Chao'an county (in the former Fengxi drawing company), and 13 administrative areas, Chenqiao, Fengshan, Huayuan, Daxin Township, gaocuotang, Lianyun, Zhuwei, Tiandong, Dayuan, Xixiang, YUNTI, Chihu and cailong, were designated under the jurisdiction of Xiangqiao district.
Economic regionalization
In December 1995, the CPC Chaozhou Municipal Committee and the Municipal People's government decided to establish Fengxi district. Its administrative leading organ is "Fengxi District Management Committee of Chaozhou City" (administrative department level unit), which is the agency of the city and exercises the functions and powers at the county and district level. The management areas are Fengxi town (from Chaoan County), Chaozhou Railway Station District, Chihu district and cailong district (from Fengxin street of Xiangqiao District), and the district Party committee and district management committee are stationed in Fengxi village. However, the administrative division still belongs to Chao'an county (now Chao'an District of Chaozhou City).
1、 Location area. Fengxi district is located in the middle and lower reaches of Hanjiang River Plain, the middle of Chaozhou City and the southwest of the city. The fourth region is Xiangqiao District in the East and northeast, Guxiang and Fengtang towns in Chaoan County in the West and northwest, and Fuyang town in Chaoan County in the south. When the district is set up, the total area is about 20 square kilometers. By 2013, the total area of the region is 24.47 square kilometers, and the mountain forest farm covers an area of 16064 mu, distributed in Guxiang, Dengtang, Chifeng, Yixi and other towns in Xiangqiao District of Chao'an county, as well as bat rock in Wanfeng mountain forest farm.

water resource
Fengxi district is rich in water resources with superior conditions. From east to west, the groundwater near Hanjiang River is shallow, and the groundwater near Hanjiang River is deep. The surface water covers a wide area, including Xiangqiao district and Fengxi district to the west of Hanjiang River, with a rainfall collection area of about 40 square kilometers.
In addition, Beiguan water diversion project, Anjie water diversion project, ditouhan water diversion project and water supply station will be built to divert water from Hanjiang River to Fengxi; groundwater will be used to conserve some wells; Hanjiang Branch Canal, pond and water conservancy will be excavated to enrich water resources in Fengxi district.
Fengxi district has a developed drainage system, industrial sewage, domestic sewage and surface water can be treated and discharged in time. In Ludong and Luxi areas, sewage flows into gouwei river through qizongsong ditch, maomoushan ditch, WanMu ditch and Yangtou ditch; in town areas, sewage flows into Xixi River through Haigou drainage ditch, Dongpu ditch and Anshan ditch; at the same time, there are many underground ditches for collaborative drainage. After the intersection of gouwei River and Xixi River, it flows into fengjiang river The water quality of the regional water source is improved.
