Yetang town

Yetang Town, subordinate to Xingning City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwest of Xingning City, adjacent to Longtian town in the East, Xinpi town in the south, and Longchuan County and Wuhua County in the southwest. The central area of the town is about 8 km away from the downtown area, with a total area of 166.14 square kilometers. By the end of 2017, the total population of Yetang town was 71888. As of June 2020, Yetang town has jurisdiction over one community and 41 administrative villages, and the town government is stationed in Yetang community.

In 1979, Xingning county had 43 people's commune revolutionary committees. Today, Yetang town belongs to the revolutionary committees of Yetang, Shengqing and Yenan people's communes. In November 1983, today's Yetang town is divided into Yetang (merged by Shengqing) and Yenan district office. In November 2004, with the consent of Guangdong Provincial People's government, Yenan town was abolished in Xingning City, and the administrative region of Yenan town was merged into Yetang town. In 2006, Yetang town was awarded by Guangdong Provincial Science and technology department as a pilot unit of technological innovation for specialized towns in Guangdong Province.

In 2017, Yetang town is expected to achieve a GDP of 709 million yuan, an increase of 7%; of which, the total industrial output value is 298 million yuan, an increase of 7.6%; the rural per capita net income is 7910 yuan, an increase of 7.5%; and the public budget revenue is 42.7077 million yuan, an increase of 28.8%.

In November 1983, the Standing Committee of the Sixth People's Congress of Xingning County deliberated and approved the "plan for removing social organizations into districts and building townships", and decided to change the "political and social integration" system. The county has 28 district offices and 1 town. Today, Yetang town belongs to Yetang (merged into Shengqing) and Yenan district office.

In June 1987, according to the Guangdong provincial government's "reply on Abolishing the establishment of township (town) system in Xingning county's district offices", Xingning County reformed its administrative system by abolishing 29 districts (towns) and establishing 22 towns and 7 townships. Today, Yetang town belongs to Yetang town and Yenan township.

In September 1993, the township system was abolished and seven townships were renamed towns. Today, Yetang town belongs to Yetang town and Yenan town respectively.
