In 1951, Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County was reorganized into 14 districts. Jiugou district was still located in Sanjiazi, and its jurisdiction remained unchanged.

In 1961, Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County was divided into 24 communes and Sanjiazi commune was established.
