AHU town

AHU town is subordinate to Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the northeast of Xinyi City, adjacent to Donghai and Shuyang in the East. The East Longhai Railway and Xuzhou Lianyungang first-class highway run through the East and West. It is only 5 kilometers away from the entrance and exit of Beijing Shanghai and Huolian expressways, 50 kilometers away from Lianyungang port in the East, 30 kilometers away from baitabu airport, and 205 national highway in the south. It is 100km away from Xuzhou Guanyin International Airport in the West and 60km away from Linyi airport in the north. The famous first well in Asia (more than 5000m deep) is located in jiangma village, AHU town. AHU town covers an area of 125.27 square kilometers (2017), with 61836 people (2017).

AHU town mainly has natural crystal, quartz, vermiculite, rutile and other mineral resources. The reserves of natural crystal account for about one sixth of China's total reserves. By 2007, the reserves of high-quality quartz have been proved to be more than 2.3 billion tons, the reserves of vermiculite have reached 22.3 million tons, and the total reserves of rutile have reached 61532 million tons.

AHU town is China's commodity grain base and the first farming town in Northern Jiangsu Province. It is rich in grain, vegetables, peanuts and wood. In 2008, the regional industrial output value was 560 million yuan.

Evolution of organizational system

According to the records of Haizhou, AHU town was called "Adou Lake" in ancient times. It got its name because Adou, who was "happy but not thinking of Shu" in the Three Kingdoms, once lingered and hoped to return and died here. In 1368, the town of AHU heishibu was established. AHU town was originally under the jurisdiction of Donghai County. In 1942, it was returned to Tongyang county. In the summer of 1949, it was subordinate to Heibu District of Xin'an County, and AHU district was established in September of the same year. In 1957, AHU Township and Heibu Township were established. In 1958, AHU commune was merged and established. Heibu commune was established in 1959 (changed to Dongfanghong commune in 1968). In 1983, it was changed into AHU Township and Heibu Township respectively. in 1987, AHU removed the township and built a town.

In 1996, AHU Town, with an area of 60 square kilometers and a population of 33000, governed 14 administrative villages and Bashan neighborhood committees, including AHU, Heping, Aimin, Luhu, hazhuang, Tiaohe, Zhonggou, Huangbai, Lianma, Sanli, Xinling, dunxin, jiangma and xiahu; Heibu Township, with an area of 62 square kilometers and a population of 24000, governed Heibu, Lingdong, Zhouzhuang, Shangwang, Shuangchi, Mingjiu, Gucun, Taoling and Shuanghu There are 12 administrative villages, including Jingou, leizhuang, Lintou and Yongwang. In 2000, Heibu town was abolished and merged into AHU Town, with an area of 125.45 square kilometers and a population of 56500. It has jurisdiction over a neighborhood committee in Bashan, and 18 administrative villages including AHU, Luhu, Tiaohe, Zhonggou, Huangbai, Lianma, Sanli, dunxin, jiangma, xiahu, Heibu, Gucun, Taoling, Mingjiu, Shuangchi, Shangwang, Lingdong and Lintou. The flood season is from May 10 to September 30 every year. Located in AHU Town, Xinyi City, the construction of AHU reservoir was started in March 1958 and completed in January 1959. The dam crest elevation is 30.0 meters, the maximum dam height is 8 meters, the check flood level is 28.77 meters, the design flood level is 27.61 meters, the flood control level is 25.00 meters, the Xingli water level is 25.50 meters, the dead water level is 22.5 meters, the total storage capacity is 34.92 million cubic meters, the flood regulation storage capacity is 31.05 million cubic meters, the Xingli storage capacity is 6.1 million cubic meters, the dead storage capacity is 50000 cubic meters, and the average annual runoff is 70 million cubic meters. AHU reservoir spans Xinyi and Donghai, and the upstream is Hezhuang reservoir.

Mineral resources

AHU town has natural crystal, quartz, vermiculite, rutile and other mineral reserves. Natural crystal has high grade and large reserves, accounting for about one sixth of China's reserves. With exquisite crystal processing technology, it is the hometown of crystal in China. Mao Zedong's crystal coffin is based on this. as of 2007, the National Geological Exploration Department has proved that the reserves of high-quality quartzite are more than 2.3 billion tons, and the silica content in quartzite is as high as 99.8%. It is the production area of high-quality quartz sand in China. The original standard of high purity quartz sand issued by the Ministry of electronic industry is based on the content of quartz sand in the town. Vermiculite reserves reach 22.3 million tons, which is the largest vermiculite ore belt in Northern Jiangsu Province. The total reserves of rutile are 615320 tons, with a content of 2.4-6.9% and an output rate of 88% (the largest reserves in Asia). Garnet and omphacite are associated with rutile.
