Baipenzhu Town, subordinate to Huidong County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the east of Huidong County. It borders on Gongping town and Haicheng Town in the East, chishi town in the south, Duozhu town in the west, Andun Town, Baokou town and gaotan town in the north, covering an area of 428 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the population of Bai Zhu Zhu registered residence was 24576. As of October 2019, Baipenzhu town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 12 administrative villages.

In 2019, the GDP of Baipenzhu town will reach 840 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7%; the investment in fixed assets of the whole society will reach 140 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5%, of which the investment in infrastructure will reach 80 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 53%.

Historical evolution

In the early days of the people's Republic of China, Shuangjin township was established as the jurisdiction of Xin'an district.

In 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of Xin'an commune.

In the winter of 1983, Shuangjin district was set up from Xinan.

In 1987, zaqu built Baipenzhu town.

In April 2006, the former Xinan town and Baipenzhu town were merged into Baipenzhu town.

In 2019, the main agricultural production in Baipenzhu town is planting, supplemented by breeding. There are many economic crops planting sites in the town, such as emperor orange, banana, organic rice, organic vegetables, pitaya, watermelon, rock tea and so on. In terms of breeding, it mainly includes fish raising in KUWAN, duck raising in pond, cattle raising and goat raising. Agricultural characteristics: rock tea in Muhua village, green tea in Hengkeng village, organic vegetables in Baima (one of the enterprises sells organic vegetables through online ordering) and Huangdi orange, pitaya, banana and Xiguang in Baipenzhu district.

In 2019, there are 6 industrial enterprises (except small power stations) in Baipenzhu town; there are 33 small hydropower stations in the town, with a total installed capacity of 20795 kW, and the small hydropower industry is an important source of tax in Baipenzhu town.

In 2019, there are 11 schools in Baipenzhu Town, including one nine-year school (Xin'an school), one junior middle school (Baipenzhu middle school) and three primary schools (Baipenzhu Central Primary School, Shuangjin primary school and kengtun primary school). One kindergarten (originally a private kindergarten, it was purchased by the town government in 2014 and changed to a public kindergarten, located in Weizhen Town, Baipenzhu town).

Among them, a comprehensive cultural square including stage, basketball court and sports fitness park has been built in six villages, namely Muhua, Xinhe, Baima, Shuangjin, Xinfeng and Buxin.

Environmental protection

In 2013, Baipenzhu town successfully established a provincial ecological town. A sewage treatment plant and a refuse transfer station were built in baipenzhuxu town. In 2019, Baipenzhu town has a compressed garbage truck and a batch of 8 garbage tractors. 150 new garbage collection points will be built; four village level sewage treatment facilities will be built to promote the "toilet revolution".

History and culture

The origin of the name

Baipenzhu was originally named baimengzhu. As the town government is surrounded by mountains on both sides and the basin in the middle, it was renamed Baipenzhu in 1958.

Food culture

Located in Baima village, Baipenzhu Town, Huidong County, Douzi tea is a traditional snack with a long history. It is also a tea with a long history in Huizhou. Baipenzhu Douzi tea was introduced from Meixian County, with a history of nearly 200 years. There are many materials needed to make Douzi tea, but the cooking process is not difficult. Soak the red beans, peas, black beans and peanuts in cold water for about half an hour, then remove the beans and drain them. Cook them in an iron pot until they are eight mature. Add peanuts, raw sesame and a little salt, and continue to cook for 5 minutes. Finally, cut up the fresh tea leaves and pour them into the pot to boil the tea leaves. After cooking, a pot of bean soup is made. Bean soup is close to ink color. Scoop up a spoonful with a spoon, full of beans, fragrant. Take out the bean soup, add fried rice and peanuts, add coriander, mint and wormwood, etc. according to personal preference, and send it to the mouth. It has rich taste, rich aroma and endless aftertaste.

Xilai ancient temple, also known as Xilai temple, is located at the waist of lion mountain in Gaobu village, Xin'an Town, with an altitude of 228 meters. It is 6 degrees from west to east by North, facing Baipenzhu reservoir. It is a "Millennium ancient temple" in Huidong County. Xilai temple was founded by chendianwu, an eminent monk of Fawang Daochang in Jiuhua Mountain, Anhui Province in 1056.

Baima kiln is located in Tianxin village group, Baima village, Baipenzhu Town, Huidong County. It is located in the south of Baipenzhu reservoir on the west side of Baima in the East Branch of Lianhua Mountain. It is mainly distributed on the hills on both sides of Baima River. On December 10, 2015, Baima kiln site was announced as the eighth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units by Guangdong Provincial People's government. The structure of Baima kiln should be listed as "Mantou kiln". It is preliminarily judged that the age of Baima kiln is the early Ming Dynasty, and the firing process is imitated Longquan kiln. This kiln site is an important material material for studying the history of ceramics in Guangdong and the export history of eastern Guangdong porcelain in Ming Dynasty. There are a large number of kiln bricks, kiln slag, caskets and various kinds of porcelain pieces, as well as a small number of kiln walls.

Shuangjinwei is located in Shuangjin village, Baipenzhu Town, surrounded by houses, covering an area of about 10000 square meters. It was built in the Qianlong period, with neat layout, orderly houses, three streets and six lanes, and four gates. The water levels of the four leveling stones are on the same level.

Baipenzhu reservoir is located in Baipenzhu town in the north east of Huidong County, about 32 kilometers away from the county. With an area of 40 square kilometers, the reservoir area is the fourth largest reservoir in Guangdong Province. Baipenzhu reservoir area in the upper reaches of Xizhijiang River, a tributary of Dongjiang River in Huidong, consists of Lianhuashan forest ecosystem and baipanzhu wetland ecosystem.

Baipenzhu hot spring is located 36 kilometers east of Huidong County. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to drive from Shenzhen to Baipenzhu hot spring. The traffic is very convenient. Baipenzhu hot spring is located in Fuzhen village, Baipenzhu town. There are nearly 40000 square meters of granite covered ground, and more than 20 hot springs are distributed. Swimming fish can be seen in the low water temperature, about 60 ℃ in the high water temperature, and 80 ℃ in the central spring. Baipenzhu hot spring belongs to sodium metasilicate spring without sulfur. The water is clear and clean, rich in metasilicic acid, sodium, chlorine and other elements.

Lianhua Mountain is located at the junction of Huidong County and Haifeng County, with an altitude of 1337.3 meters. It is the highest peak in Southeast Guangdong. There are many kinds of plants on the mountain, including Golden dog, black Alsophila spinulosa, cycadium and other national protected plants, which breed a rich variety of animal resources, among which clouded leopard, leopard, black stork, Chinese merganser and python belong to the national first-class protected animals.
